Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has sparked a lot of controversy ahead of the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 match. He highlighted the BCCI's decision to skip the crucial game for the following reasons:

"The game of cricket is nothing compared to the sacrifices of our soldiers."

Because "blood and water cannot flow together," Harbhajan asserted that it is inappropriate to celebrate cricket when soldiers are losing their lives on the border. While some members of the public have found resonance in his comments, supporters who believe that politics and sports should be kept separate have also criticised him.

The eagerly awaited India vs Pakistan match on September 14, 2025, will be held in Dubai.
